About
In a world where one mans blood is another mans elixir, Lo-Giudice Dance conjures a nameless beast lurking in the folklore, history and soil of the North, channelling its wild romance and mystery into a heart pounding dance theatre work, Savages.
Performers, Alicia Meehan, Mary Mannion, Alex Rowland, Robert Anderson, and Apprentice Dancer - Cora Jay Williams, will perform physical, passionate choreography by Anthony Lo-Giudice to the Nordic music of Einar Selvik.
Fusing Scandinavian Runes and ancient sagas with battle cries and hauntingly beautiful voices, Savages brings fantasy, history, religious iconography and human desire into a seamless tale of one mans journey into a macabre world of love, loss and sacrifice.
Themes of carnal lust and the divine, brutal ferocity and the human soul, interweave throughout the work to create a sensual and spiritual experience, taking stories from ancient wet stone, forgotten manuscripts and mystical ceremony, catapulting them into audiences’ eyes, ears and souls.
A free post-show discussion will take place immediately after the performance with the company which all ticket holders are welcome to stay for.
Ticket purchase does not guarantee entry to latecomers.
* The work deals with adult themes.
