Alex is a freelance contemporary dance performance artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne, currently creating work through Trashdolly Dance Theatre. The company specializes in making immersive dance theatre that may be presented within both indoor and outdoor performance spaces. His choreographic interests and artistic style predominantly focuses on developing a seamless composition between dance improvisation, live music and characterization. The stimulus for most of Alex’s creative exploration often stems from his individual interpretation of everyday experiences and the way in which these encounters inspire or affect his wellbeing, teamed with his personal desire to challenge and breakaway from the formality of his traditional choreographic structuring patterns.
