Last night was our Season Launch and we had a fantastic evening. We hope those in attendance enjoyed the evening and got a taste of what is to come for the Autumn and Winter 2024 season at Dance City! We have a mix of performances from dance to talks and comedy and we are excited about the introduction of new art forms and events within the Dance City building.

Bombay Superstars is a glittering concert musical about the disco, the divas, and the drama that created Bollywood icons.


Created by Sâmir Bhamra, this colourful and delicious romantic musical about anguished love, master manipulation and the unbreakable bonds of family in the dazzling golden era of Bollywood cinema features iconic Bollywood classics hits like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dum Maro Dum and Chura Liya, and new songs by homegrown talent Robby Khela with musical arrangements by Hinal Pattani.

The Flock and Moving Cloud – Double Bill – Scottish Dance Theatre

Dance Edits is an informal platform for new work presented by regional and national dance artists. Come and join for the evening where you can experience a range of different dance work and meet the artists who are making it.

There will be a chance to share your feedback and insights in a relaxed setting. Dance City’s The Seven Bridges bar will be open before and after the performances.

Stories of a Watersprite- Sophie Nüzel Projects

Stories of a Watersprite is a relaxed performance for young audiences which uses dance, storytelling and puppetry to explore the world of this playful mythical figure. Introduced with embedded audio description, the performance is evocative and sensitive, inspiring audiences to use their imagination to experience the performance through all their senses, igniting a curiosity to learn about their environment and boosting their capacity to care about change. It touches on the threats to our ecosystems, the power that we hold to change things and the importance of community. 

This show is a gentle and multi-sensory dance and theatre experience for young audience. A visual story is available on request.

Critics’ Circle Award winning company, Ballet Cymru, present an extraordinary adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece “Romeo a Juliet”, performed to Sergei Prokofiev’s classic score.

“Romeo a Juliet” features choreography from company Directors Darius James OBE and Amy Doughty, and costumes by Georg Meyer-Wiel (www.meyerwiel.com) who has created costumes for some of the world’s leading companies including Rambert Dance Company and Australian Dance Theatre.

Rob Newman: Where The Wild Things Were

The double BAFTA award-winner will be discussing his journey through life so far, including varied themes such as; an ecumenical debate with a bishop about E.T., partying with Motörhead, and being held at gun point by armed police!

All funds raised on this night will play a part in making sure Dance City continues it’s work for the next 40 years!
