About
Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours is a week of creative dance activities, led by celebrated Deaf choreographer Christopher Fonseca in collaboration with a dynamic team of volunteer dance participants. Inspired by the magical era of classic Motown music, Christopher will create funky choreographic rhythms and intricate hand and footwork, a hallmark of his choreographic style, as well as integrating British Sign Language. The week-long project culminates in a live performance on stage at Dance City on Friday 16 July, to a socially distanced live audience.

A BSL interpreter will be present during the post show Q&A.
In order to maintain a safe distance between audience members, this will be conducted in the Theatre with audiences remaining in their seats, and those wishing to leave taking a moment to do so before we begin.

Christopher Fonseca is a committed professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and global D/deaf ambassador who works extensively in the UK, Europe and Internationally.

While studying at the University of Wolverhampton from 2009 to 2012, Christopher joined ‘Def Motion’ a dance collective established with support from Deaffest - the UK's annual Deaf Film Festival. Since graduating, Christopher has accomplished a diverse range of professional activities and achievements, beginning in 2012, with an appearance in the Paralympic Games opening ceremony (London UK). More recent activities include; Clin d’Oeil Festival France, Shuffle Festival London UK, The Black Collective: Black History Month, Smirnoff Experience, India International Dance Festival, The One Show, SKY1 What’s Up TV, 5 Bay Sunday News San Francisco and the European Social Innovation Competition.

Christopher’s present engagements are focused on achieving greater access and visibility for Deaf dancers in the performing arts. This vitally important work is supported by Arts Council England, Surface Area Dance Theatre, The Place, Dance City and Shoreditch Town Hall.
