J Neve Harrington, awarded the Dance City 2022/23 commission,  is an interdisciplinary artist whose works include movement, text and conversation, installation, costume and space design. She works mainly in gallery and non-stage spaces where her work prioritises explorations around access, play, agency, confrontation by times/scales beyond the human, neurodivergent experiences of information processing and attention.

Harrington’s recent works include: kaleidoscopic dance and sound work Screensaver Series (2018), doomsday clock never closer to midnight (2019), UNFRIENDING (2021) and storage for future sunsets (2020) a commission from Scottish Dance Theatre & V&A Dundee, which features set, film and costumes created by Harrington. Satelliser: a dance for the gallery (2016/2021) by Harrington & coworkers toured to BALTIC CCA, Turner Contemporary and NottDance CONTINUOUS Network in 2021-22 and will be part of Threads exhibition at Arnolfini, Bristol in July 2023. A digital publication – www.satellising.com – accompanies the live performances, offering insight into the processes and contexts surrounding the work.

In Autumn 2023 Harrington will premiere SOME TIMES with shows at Dance City Newcastle and Sadler’s Wells London. She is currently developing FIVES, a new work for young audiences with Choreodrome at The Place. She works regularly in collaboration with other artists, including with long-term dance collaborator Elisa Vassena. She supports other artists with grant-writing and project management including as an access support worker.
