About
Class description: Please note this class is for complete beginners.
No experience is necessary as this class will be working on the very basic steps of Ballet and building up from there. We will cover a ranges of styles and moves but the pace will be slower in comparison to the Beginners class.
If you have some experience of Ballet, we also offer:
Ballet Beginners- Thursdays, 5:00-6:00pm & Sundays, 10:30-11:30am
Ballet Improvers- Mondays, 6:00-7:00pm & Sundays, 11:30-12:30pm
Targets: lower body, arms, core and posture.
Who is it for? 18+yrs. no experience necessary
What should I wear? Something you can move comfortably in. Ballet shoes are recommended but not necessary, socks are fine.
What should I bring? Just yourself and some water.
Teacher: Amy Becke
Amy gained her BA Hons degree from Ballet West Scotland in 2019. During her time at the school, Amy was offered an apprenticeship with the Ballet West Scotland Touring Company where she travelled to Malaysia to perform Swan Lake. Amy completed her RAD Advanced Two receiving a high distinction. Amy then went on to study for a year at Ballet Cymru on their pre-professional programme, before moving back home to South Shields to complete her Masters here at Dance City. Since graduating, Amy has worked with North East based companies as a freelance dancer and performance Artist.
Amy's Ballet classes are influenced by her varied training. Studying mainly in Ballet, learning the Royal Academy of Dance and Vaganova Methods, before focusing on Contemporary and Physical Theatre styles. Over the last two and a half years teaching in the Northeast, Amy has developed an outline for her classes which values strength, support and enjoyment.
