What should I wear? Comfortable clothing, trainers suitable for indoor use.
Teacher Jess Doran
Jessie Doran is a dance artist based in the North East, working as a facilitator, performer, and choreographer. After graduating in 2018 with a degree in Professional Dance Practice and later earning a Master's in Performance Dance in 2022, Jessie has gone on to work with Hit The Ground Running Dance Theatre as a performer and facilitator, as well as with Northern Dance, North East Dance, The Duke De Milo ShowDolls, where she performed across the North East in theaters, venues, bars, and events, and Dance City.
Jessie has also choreographed various public classes over the past few years for Dance City showcases, including Cabaret Heels, Commercial Heels, and Commercial Improvers, to name a few. She continues to deliver these classes alongside children's classes such as Ballet Primary, Ballet Juniors, and Pop Steps, which are full of fun, high energy, and focus on teaching foundational techniques and dance skills.
Additionally, Jessie has worked as a teaching assistant and facilitator for several years with the Newcastle Centre for Advanced Training programme. She has also participated in numerous festivals, such as Deershed Festival and NE1 Summer in the City, delivering dance workshops and outreach projects across the region.
Recently, Jessie taught dance summer camps for both Dance City and Theatre Royal during their Musical Theatre weeks, where she both taught and choreographed for students, culminating in a full show at the end of the week. Jessie has now begun developing her own business, Dare2Dance, offering Commercial and Heels choreography classes in the region. These classes aim to help students develop their technique, performance, and creative practice in this dance genre, with performance opportunities planned for 2025.
Please let the ticket office know if you have any additional needs, if you feel comfortable in doing so. If you are pregnant, have an injury or an existing medical condition we would recommend that you seek professional advice before attending a class.
