About
Dance City is hosting the first ever Inspire Festival – a weekend dedicated to dance and ageing. The festival looks to celebrate the versatility of dance and its timeless importance in our lives. With a range of sessions Inspire Festival aims to remind a generation of dancers of the lifelong joys of dance.
Taking place at Dance City, Newcastle, an inspiring line up of speakers, dancers and workshops has been assembled and there is a huge range of content on offer by and for people age 55+.
Saturday Inspire Festival activities include creative workshops with BalleLORENT's Caroline Reece, Yoga workshops with Debbi Purtill, the chance to try Aerial, and improvisation with Tim Rubidge. There will be an open rehearsal and performance by Dance City's 55+ Company, Boundless and the opportunity throughout the day to experience the VA(R)NISH and Three Score Dance film installations. Septuagenarian Dora Frankel will present her award-winning screen dance film Touch The Beast, and there will be an opportunity for intergenerational dancing with Helen Kumar.
Once you have booked your day or weekend tickets, an easy to read timetable will be sent to you by email so you can plan your day’s activities and book individual workshops.
