Dance City is taking part in the government’s Kickstart Scheme which provides funding to employers to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.
The scheme has enabled Dance City to create several new entry level roles across a number departments. The Kickstart roles will pay National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be: aged 16-24, claiming Universal Credit, and in receipt of no other earned income. Talk to your Work Coach at Job Centre Plus about being referred to apply.

We are currently recruiting for the following Kickstart roles:
Facilities Assistant: to work directly with the Artistic Director & CEO and Ticket Office Manager and ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the building including general repairs to fixtures and fittings, operational support and ensuring health and safety checks.
Finance Assistant: to work directly with the Finance Director and assist in the provision of general finance administrative duties including inputting into accounts, reconciling accounts, monitoring petty cash, assisting with monthly payroll and the year-end process.
Dance City has an exciting opening for the role of Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director & CEO. The role will provide dedicated support and assistance, managing their diary, communications, and travel. Coordinating and facilitating meetings, assist with funding applications and general day-to-day administration functions. The role is an excellent opportunity to work at the heart of a cultural institution.
The education department are seeking a BA Administrator and MA Administrator. Education is a cornerstone of activity at Dance City, and formal further and higher education in dance has long been a part of the organisation’s contribution to local, regional, national, and international dance.
The roles are exciting opportunities for ambitious young people who want to work in the Arts, but also wants to learn about Education in the Arts. The roles will work closely together and across both programmes to support the day-to-day administration function of the programmes; record keeping, communications, coordinating and facilitating meetings.
