Adam Russell’s starting point for the research is 2 masks he brought to England from his recent travel in Peru used in the festival Paucartambo. His interest into folklore began after first travelling to Chile for the previously mentioned Lost in Translation project. Adam has recently returned from a second visit to a number of countries in South America.
Throughout his Creative Summer residency, Adam will be exploring movement as a solo on himself as well as a duet. The research process will explore South American and English Folk Tales, Myths and culture, a celebration of creativity, diversity and experimentation. For the piece he is learning to unicycle and the hope is that he can explore this skill together with his movement style as element of my research in this project.
