Dance City Take A Seat Campaign
Dance City in Newcastle is looking for corporate sponsors that are real movers and shakers, and is offering quirky perks designed to have a positive impact on workforce wellbeing and brand awareness.
In a bid to prove that it really does care for ‘bums on seats’, Dance City is fundraising to replace the old fashioned bench style seating in its 250 capacity theatre with seating that will encourage more people to see its spectacular programme of contemporary dance performances, which is the biggest outside London.
The organisation, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016 and engages with over 10,000 individuals each year through its open access classes, its learning academy and its professional performance programme, has launched the Take a Seat campaign, offering the chance to sponsor a new seat for £150. All donations will be match funded by the Arts Council through its Catalyst: Evolve fund – doubling the impact of every pound raised.
Sponsors of up to 19 seats will have their contribution to the comfort of posteriors acknowledged on a commemorative plaque for posterity, but businesses willing to offer more will get more back.
Sponsors of 20 seats (£3,000) will also qualify for a dance-based team building workshop, which will include the creation of a bespoke Maori-style HAKA for your organisation. Something to brighten up those Monday morning meetings!
Sponsoring 50 seats (£7,500) will qualify for additional perks including VIP show tickets, on-site dance classes for your team and your logo on publicity materials as a Dance City Supporter – a great way to affiliate your brand with the arts, health and wellbeing agendas.
Investing in 100 seats (£15,000) will snag your business all the above perks, plus a movie dance-along event for up to 120 people. Whether you choose to dance along to Grease, Hairspray or Mamma Mia, there will never be another office party like it.
One fast-moving business, by sponsoring 200 seats (£30,000), could secure all of the above plus a three year naming right of the theatre, and accreditation as Dance City’s Corporate Patron on all publicity.
Dance City’s Artistic Director, Anthony Baker, is enthusiastic about opportunities to engage with the business community. He says, “Dance City is a dynamic, exciting and forward thinking organisation and our purpose is to change lives through dance in the North East. We are sure there are like minded businesses we should be working with, and the Take a Seat fundraising campaign is the perfect opportunity for us to come together and shake things up!”
