This presentation enables young people to gain an understanding of how dance theatre is created, from an empty theatre to a fully formed production. It will explore various methods of producing dance material and how to develop it through an interactive process. The lecture demonstration will also look at the effect of music, emotion and lighting on the choreography through watching excerpts of work by Tees Valley Dance.
Students will be encouraged to contribute their ideas and opinions so they can work on their appreciation and feedback skills.
Suitable for secondary school aged pupils, especially though studying dance or drama at GCSE or A level.
"Very, very useful. Opportunity for students to watch how dancers work...exploring new approaches to choreography - invaluable." Head of Dance, Greenfield School, Community and Arts College.
