Lucy Carter is at the forefront of lighting design, working
internationally with choreographers and companies including the
Royal Ballet, Wayne McGregor with Random Dance, San Francisco
Ballet, Ballet of the Opéra de Paris, Stuttgart Ballet, New York City
Ballet, Sadler’s Wells, and Scottish Ballet. Lucy has strong feelings
about the power and possibilities of light. “It affects everything.”
As a dance student she found herself becoming more interested in
lighting pieces than choreographing them, and in the last 20 years, it has taken her to the forefront of whole generation of designers who have taught dance audiences to see light in new ways.
